OKLAHOMA CITY — August 26, 2026 — Oklahoma Democratic Party Chair Erin Brewer issued the following statement regarding ongoing federal litigation and policy disputes concerning absentee voting and election administration:
“Oklahoma voters deserve clear, reliable information about how they can cast their ballots, including through absentee voting.
“The Democratic National Committee, along with the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, and Democratic Governors Association, has renewed legal action challenging federal actions affecting mail-in voting through the United States Postal Service.
“The Democratic National Committee has also filed legal actions concerning reported threats involving federal agents or armed troops at polling places and has sought records concerning alleged plans involving the seizure of ballots.
“Regardless of political affiliation, voters should be able to understand the rules governing their elections and have confidence that their ballots will be handled according to the law. Election officials, political organizations, and voters all have a responsibility to rely on accurate information and established election procedures.
“In Oklahoma, absentee voting remains an important option for eligible voters who cannot or do not wish to vote in person on Election Day, including the many servicemen and women who rely on absentee voting to participate in elections at home.
