Governor Kevin Stitt Delivered his eighth and final annual address outlining his out-of-touch legislative priorities for this year’s session.
Oklahoma City, OK - The 2026 legislative session began today with Kevin Stitt’s final State of the State address. During his annual outline of legislative priorities, Stitt spent most of his time talking about issues that help working families the least. Kevin Stitt is ending his term as Governor in the same way that he started it - with unpopular policies and MAGA rhetoric.
“As has been the norm for the last seven years, Kevin Stitt’s priorities are questionable. His failing policies have driven Oklahoma to the bottom of the most important categories. Wasteful spending, declining school performance, closure of hospitals, and foolish corporate giveaways have cost every Oklahoman economic opportunity. We can and must do better in our upcoming elections,” said OKDEMS Chair Erin Brewer.
From warning against government spending while proposing the largest transfer of public dollars to private schools in state history to attacking tribal sovereignty and our state’s most vulnerable, Stitt’s speech was full of contradictions that suit his agenda and leave working families out to dry.
As Stitt’s final term comes to a close, Oklahomans have an opportunity to elect a Governor who will fight for working families every day. Oklahoma families are feeling the pain, which is why Oklahoma Democrats are working tirelessly to recruit and elect the candidates dedicated to cleaning up the mess that Republicans have created, and delivering a stronger Oklahoma.
