Obama for America invited artists from across the country to volunteer their creativity to support President Obama’s American Jobs Act. Over 1,000 designs were submitted and only 12 finalists were chosen to be voted on by the public. Public voting is scheduled to begin the evening of Monday, November 21, 2011 at www.barackobama.com/artworks. Three winners will get a framed print of their poster signed by President Obama and a limited edition of their poster will be sold in the campaign store with proceeds benefiting the campaign.
I was excited to see such a great opportunity opened up to the general public, and not just high-profile designers in New York, Washington or Chicago. Politics aside, I am proud to show the nation that Tulsa’s creativity is equal to that of any place in the country. You can find out all the information about the contest and voting at www.barackobama.com/artworks. As for my particulars, I have lived in Tulsa about 2 years and have been impressed with Tulsa’s art, history, architecture and culture in general. I’ve quickly grown to love the town despite its Republican leanings. I’m happy to connect with other like-minded Democrats. I am currently a Sr. Designer for the Tulsa Area United Way, where we just raised over $24.7 million to help strengthen our community. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks!
