On January 20, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that corporations are allowed to infuse unlimited amounts of money into elections.  The 5-4 ruling on the case, Citizens United v. FEC, gives special interests an open invitation to influence the outcome of elections in our nation and will only make our public servants more beholden to special interests.

This decision must not be allowed to stand.  It undermines free and fair elections and will erode voters’ confidence in our system of democracy.

Not surprisingly, Republicans have hailed this decision - the same Republicans who have stood with corporate America year after year to block any measure that would benefit middle class Americans at the expense of the corporate bottom line.
