Just a little more than a week from now, The Oklahoma Democratic Party will host its 2010 Homecoming Dinner and Activists Hall of Fame Awards Saturday, July 31st. It will be held in the Wildcat Pavilion at the Oklahoma City Zoo beginning at 6 pm.
Six individuals will be honored for their commitment and dedication to the Democratic Party.
"Volunteering is often a thankless job," said Todd Goodman, ODP Chair. "But once a year, this awards gala gives us an opportunity to come together as a party and honor those who have gone above and beyond the call of duty."
This year's Hall of Fame Winners are: Jack Boyte, Miller Newman, Charlie and Juanita King, Troy Green, Tommie Lou Levi and Dr. John A. Reed Jr.
The selection process for inductees is done by distributing nomination forms to county chairs, as well as other Democratic leaders throughout the state. All nominations are considered by the Activist Hall of Fame Selection Committee.
“The selection process is a difficult one,” Goodman said. “All of our volunteers deserve special recognition for their hard work. We are very fortunate to have such genuine friends. Together, we will all bring the ODP to the forefront of state politics and show our neighbors the compassion, integrity and hard work that comes with being an Oklahoma Democrat.”
