OKLAHOMA DEMOCRATS SHOW UNITY AT ANNUAL HOMECOMING DINNER
For Immediate Release: July 14, 2010
Oklahoma City-- The Oklahoma Democratic Party will host its 2010 Homecoming Dinner and Activists Hall of Fame Awards Saturday, July 31st. It will be held in the Wildcat Pavilion at the Oklahoma City Zoo beginning at 6 pm.
“This is an opportunity for us to show solidarity,” said Todd Goodman, ODP Chair. “The Homecoming Dinner comes a few days after the statewide primary elections, and gives us a chance to join together as a party. Our special guests will be Lt. Governor Jari Askins and Attorney General Drew Edmondson , and we look forward to a show of strength and unity as we head into the general elections this fall.”
Five individuals will also be honored for their contributions to statewide campaigns with the Activists Hall of Fame Awards. “We are fortunate to have so many friends who lend their time and talents to the Democratic cause,” Goodman said. “It's a difficult selection process, but we have identified five people to honor this year and say 'thank you' for a job well done.
“Historically, Oklahoma has always been a Democratic state. We are working with our candidates to restore those core Democratic values of hard work, honesty and plain old Oklahoma grit. It's time for us to reclaim Oklahoma, and end the divisive, elitist attitude of which the Republicans seem to be so proud. It's time we show the nation Oklahoma is a great place in which all of us can live and work together,” Goodman said.
Former Corporation Commissioner Jim Roth will serve as Master of Ceremonies. Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for seniors and $12 for children under 12. Tickets may be purchased by phoning 405.427.3366. Table sponsorships are also available.
