      Oklahoma City, OK - "The Oklahoma Democratic Party lost a great Democrat and Oklahoma lost a great woman, when Jarita Askins, mother of Oklahoma Lt. Gov. Jari Askins, died Sunday in Duncan,"  stated Ivan Holmes, Oklahoma Democratic State Chair.

     " I know that Jarita was a great influence in the life of our Lt. Governor," Holmes said.

     "Our mother's life was filled with love of God, her family and the community she dearly loved to call home," Lt. Gov. Askins said in a statement on Sunday.
