Rep. Mary Fallin has released a new ad today that again is misleading at best.

The thirty second ad claims Fallin is the only candidate who opposes the recent health care reform passed by the U.S. Congress. However, Askins has consistently said she would support an opt-out option for the state of Oklahoma.

The ad also claims Fallin is a supporter of the recent Arizona immigration law, but when asked whether she was in favor of passing a similar law in Oklahoma, Fallin said Oklahoma had different needs than Arizona. She refused to commit to passing a similar law here.

Todd Goodman, Chairman of the Oklahoma Democratic Party, said the ad is just another attempt of Fallin to mislead voters and misrepresent Askins’ record.

“Oklahoma voters aren’t going to fall for Fallin’s dishonest attempts to mislead them,” Goodman said. “Jari Askins’ record is clear; she’s effective, bipartisan and a conservative democrat who has been up front about her stance on every issue that is important to Oklahoma. Jari Askins is the most qualified and best candidate to represent Oklahomans, not special interests, in the governor’s mansion.”
