AFTER REMARKS, LABOR COMMISSIONER SHOULD RESIGN

“Costello comparing middle class to feral hogs proves he is out of touch…”

Oklahoma City- Mark Costello, the Labor Commissioner, whose primary responsibility is to protect the workers of Oklahoma and ensure that the middle class is treated fairly, compared state employees to feral hogs and used a political speech to announce the formation of Oklahomans for Parity, an organization created to attack state employees.

“Commissioner Costello’s comparison of state employees to feral hogs who breed three or four times a year is not only insensitive to families struggling…it is unacceptable and he should resign immediately” Oklahoma Democratic Party Chairman Wallace Collins said. “Costello is a millionaire who financed his own campaign and has no clue that people are being forced to choose between feeding their kids and making their mortgage payment. This is a classic case of the fox guarding the hen house.”

Costello defeated Lloyd Fields in the 2010 elections in a campaign financed primarily by his personal wealth and wealthy individuals who support the elimination of all rights for the middle class.

Chairman Collins concluded, “The Labor Commissioner is tasked with guarding the rights of Oklahoma’s hard working men and women, not taking them away. It is a sad day for families when the person elected to protect their rights creates an attack organization to take them away.”

Could the Chair of the Human Rights Commission be an off-duty Klansman? Oh, that's right ... there is no Human Rights Commission.

Thanks to the State ODP for the quick response. As a retired educator I appreciate my political party standing up for educators and working middle-class men and women of this state. We can not let the Labor Commissioner get away with such remarks.
There is still a Human Rights Commission for another month at least. My husband is a member of the commission.
