Congresswoman and gubernatorial candidate Mary Fallin has missed 26 votes in Congress since the recess ended in August--including the Small Business Jobs Act passed last week, which will greatly benefit the small businesses of Oklahoma.
The Small Business Jobs Act is a bill that will help millions of small businesses across the country with the necessary support and incentives to help them grow and hire additional workers in this tough economic time.
Specifically, the Small Business Jobs Act will give small businesses $12 billion in tax cuts, help create a half-million jobs, will incentivize small business lending and allow small business owners access to private capital to hire new workers to help them grow, while promoting fairness in competition.
Todd Goodman, Oklahoma Democratic Party Chair, said it is important to know how beneficial this bill will be to Oklahomans.
“This legislation could not come at a more crucial time for our small businesses across Oklahoma,” Goodman said. “With billions in tax cuts and other incentives that will spur job creation and small business growth, this bill shows how Democrats understand that middle class and small businesses are the engine of our economy and are crucial in our economic recovery. I applaud Congress for doing everything they can to help our economy and the small businesses that are so important to Oklahoma and its economy.”
In addition to missing the vote last week, Fallin voted no on the legislation the first time it was approved in the House. This is another example of yet again, Representative Fallin not representing Oklahomans.
