Oklahoma City, OK - Todd Goodman, chair of the Oklahoma Democratic Party, today issued the following statement regarding President Barack Obama being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize:
"On behalf of the Oklahoma Democratic Party, I offer sincere congratulations to President Obama for this tremendous honor. But this is not merely recognition of the work of one man – it's an affirmation of the hope for a better world that has been restored in our great nation. Once again, the United States has become a global leader focused on halting nuclear proliferation, stopping the violence of war and acknowledging our tremendous burden of leading by example.
"This award is not just an honor, but a call to action for every American to share in the important work of promoting community, civility and peace here at home and worldwide. If we can put this solemn duty ahead of trivial differences and partisan bickering, then we will all be able to share in this honor."
